These two campsites are situated on small bluff above a lake with a swamp filled shore line. It is a short hike into a heavily forested area, and carts are not available. During the summer there are swampy areas with tons of mosquitos and ticks, and during the fall there is a cold breeze that comes off the lake. Site 335 is a smaller camping area and sits above site 334. It is recommended that both sites are reserved due to their proximity. Both sites have issues with noise during the day since there is a kennel across the lake and the dogs bark all day. Site 334 is also home of the now dried up Lake Edgar, the original Sweet Home Alabama site which was the inspiration for the Kampin’ Pussy T-shirt, and the tree that contains the Burger + Edgar carving. We have camped at these sites during the following years: Fall 2011, Summer 2009, and Summer 2003. The Hen House CafĂ© is close by for the arrival or departure breakfast, and if you don’t order the home made toast, you are pretty much an asshole.
