Site review for Buckhorn State Park Site no. 17:
Site is open, but has a long hike in heavily forested area with tons of mosquitos and ticks. It has a large beach area, and site is mostly sand. Bars across the way are the Dirty Turtle and Shipwreck Bay are very loud at night, but fun to visit. A boat is a must have to load/unload the gear, it is also reccommended that site 18 is also reserved to ensure that no other “campers” are nearby.
